The Essence of Splitboarding

As we continue on our journey of development for the United Shapes collection, it’s important to pull back and think about the relationship between the rider and environment. The way we move through mountains and nature as a whole is the essence of our experience as snowboarders - and through splitboarding we have the potential to find balance between the up and the down.

Splitboarding is a pursuit we snowboarders have in our arsenal to mix things up, to take on a mountain from a new angle, to see things in a new light. It offers an entirely different experience from riding the resort.

In fact, it’s hard to even compare it to anything else - it’s entirely its own thing; and that’s why we love it. Splitboarding is a tool that can help us strengthen our connection to nature and allow us the space to get a bit introspective.

In essence, splitboarding is about stripping away as much of the noise and human made infrastructure as possible, while still allowing for that thrilling descent and gravitational glide that make snowboarding so special and unique.

It really is the gift that keeps on giving. Whether it’s the excitement of splitboarding for the first time and figuring out what to do with “skis” under your feet - or the pursuit of climbing and riding the world’s most beautiful peaks - the depth of the experience is quite boundless and the script is open ended.

We are excited to announce the return of the Splitboard as part of the full 23-24 United Shapes collection.
