Our Guide to FreeRide vs. All-Mountain

FreeRide and all-mountain are familiar categories, but they do not always tell you much about how a snowboard will actually feel.

For us, the difference begins with how a rider approaches the mountain.

Our FreeRide shapes—the Cadet and Deep Reach—are designed around direction, speed, and commitment. They create confidence when the terrain becomes more demanding and the line asks for a decisive approach.

Our All-Mountain shapes—the Horizon and Object—are built around interaction. They make it easier to see familiar terrain differently, change your approach, and find more possibilities within every run.

These categories are not boundaries. Every board is designed to move across the whole mountain. The distinction is in what each shape emphasizes and the kind of experience it is intended to create.

FreeRide: Built Around the Line

FreeRide begins with intention.

It is the feeling of discovering a line, choosing an approach, and trusting the board beneath you. Stability, edge hold, float, and speed all matter, but only because they allow the rider to move with greater confidence and less hesitation.

The Cadet and Deep Reach are both directional FreeRide shapes, but they arrive at that feeling from different directions.

Cadet: Precision and Power

The Cadet is our most committed FreeRide shape.

Its stiffer flex and powerful construction create a precise, responsive platform for riders who actively drive the board. It holds a strong edge through fast turns, remains composed in variable snow, and provides the support needed for firm conditions, large airs, and technical terrain.

Deep Days inserts allow the stance to move farther back when conditions call for more float, extending its range without changing its fundamentally powerful character.

The Cadet is for the rider who wants to choose a line and ride it with conviction.

The feeling: Precision, power and composure.

Deep Reach: Float and Flow

The Deep Reach offers a more fluid interpretation of FreeRide.

A wider platform, generous taper, and early-rise nose create natural float and glide, allowing the board to carry speed through deep snow and arcing turns. Its width also provides a stable platform for carving, while the shorter effective length keeps it more maneuverable than its surface area might suggest.

The result is a board that feels calm, smooth, and intuitive through soft snow and mixed terrain. Riders can choose their normal length for maximum float or downsize approximately 3 cm for a quicker, more responsive ride.

The Deep Reach is for the rider who wants speed and stability without losing a sense of flow.

The feeling: Floating, gliding, and carrying speed with ease.

All-Mountain: Built Around Possibility

All-mountain riding begins with an open approach.

A familiar trail reveals a new transition. A small feature becomes an opportunity to leave the ground, change direction, or connect one movement to the next.

The Horizon and Object are designed to encourage that kind of interaction. Both offer the stability to ride with confidence across the resort, but each creates possibility in a different way.

Horizon: Directional Creativity

The Horizon blends directional performance with a playful, adaptable feel.

Its shape provides stability through deep carves and changing snow, while its balanced flex keeps it responsive when moving between sidehits, transitions, natural features, and faster open terrain. It feels directional without becoming overly demanding, creating a versatile platform for riders who want to approach the whole resort creatively.

The Horizon is for the rider who moves naturally between carving, jumping, exploring, and opening up the board when the terrain allows.

The feeling: Playful, stable, adaptable.

Object: Freestyle Freedom

The Object takes a more centered, freestyle-oriented, powerful approach to the mountain.

Its twin shape and poppy flex supports switch riding and airs, while effortless turn initiation makes it easy to change direction and react to the terrain in front of you. A responsive medium flex creates energy without making the board feel demanding, and enough stability remains when speed or impact increases.

The Object is for the rider who sees the whole mountain as a place for expression—from groomers and sidehits to natural features, switch lines, and spontaneous changes in direction.

The feeling: Balanced, powerful, and open to interpretation.
